Let me see now, who should I believe about Coronavirus, the world’s medical staff or Billybigbowls?
What a tough decision.

I imagine that greenkeepers will not be classed as essential workers which means that bowling greens and golf courses will not be
maintained for the next however many weeks. If greens are neglected will there come a point when it will be difficult to get them back
into a decent state?
Also, I would hope that all sports facilities are treated equally so that no exemptions are made for football pitches, training grounds, Wimbledon and championship golf courses etc. That would be very unfair

During the COVID-19 situation and looking likely that no bowls league and competitions will take place for the foreseeable future are we/can we confirm the following please:

1) To help clubs from a financial perspective would it be an idea to waver subscriptions for this coming year relating to local affiliations right up to the BCGBA affiliations
2) Will delegates of these associations be wavering their individual fees for roles during this COVID-19 crisis as goodwill gesture to keep the game of Crown Green Bowls in a good financial state

Both my points above are based on that these affiliations have money in the bank with no expenses to be paid out as such. The clubs involved in this game are going to be losing out on revenue with cancellation of fixtures and competitions which will have an adverse impact on individual clubs bar takings etc which keeps these clubs going within our game.

I guess with meetings deferred etc during COVID-19 this will save on expenses etc from delegates attending meetings which on a positive note is another saving. If i am wrong that expenses are incurred at such meetings then I apologise in advance.

I think from Top to Bottom all support is necessary during these challenging times.

Stay safe, fit and healthy. Follow the Government guidelines and this COVID-19 will see a positive outcome in weeks to come rather than months to come.

Well said Steven in your last paragraph. If only everybody took notice of what we are told to do during this crisis. Like you say, it would be over much quicker.

As greenkeeper of a self maintained council owned green, I have been instructed to allow the grass to grow to an "unplayable length". This is in an attempt to stop people using the green for practice and / or social bowling.
I will run the mower over occasionally to top the grass at around 10mm. This should keep the grass in a retrievable state if and when we get back to playing.

Stick to the advice and maybe we'll get back on the greens sometime this season....if we don't bowl this year but all maintain our health then we'll all be here and keen for next season.

Stay safe.

Well it seems we still have to pay all the fees to BCGBA and Regional SYCCGBA

Money for old rope if you ask me as I cant see any sign of a season or part of even being being played.

This is from a club with a handful of bowlers and a handful of secondry members from other clubs

Seems more sense to hold a meeting by telephone kand dissolve the club as im not asking for any member for membership fees and furloughing the club until further notice
Have woods will travel

Where does the powers that be stand on the announcement from the Government that early easing of the lockdown can be implemented ? Clubs have paid their subscriptions so they need explanations as to what is happening. We have heard that Golf Tennis Football and Horse Racing could resume in the near future so what about our sport?

Nothing officially announced yet, I’d have thought it will be early next week after Sunday’s announcement, whatever it is?

Just read new rules and regs for bowling again on BCGBA website best of British with them but you can have a role from Wednesday though if you follow new guidelines.
